The growing popularity of Tai Chi Chuan makes it important to continually inform the public of advances in research and training and to provide people who are interested with the knowledge and means to enjoy the vast health benefits that Tai Chi Chuan can bring.From May 25 – 29, 2019, the Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Foundation will host the Third International Tai Chi Chuan Symposium in Selvino, Italy . Six leading tai chi chuan grandmasters, representing the traditional styles of Chen, Yang, Wu (Hao), Wu, Sun and He style tai chi chuan will once again share their unparalleled experience and skill so that tai chi chuan practitioners can continue to benefit from the practice of this unique art and spread their learnings to those around them. As well there will be an academic program focused on research on the health benefits of tai chi chuan and a tournament for Yang style tai chi chuan practitioners is planned. Master Yang Jun was awarded the honorary title of Kentucky Colonel on July 7, 2014. Louisville Mayor Fischer presented the Kentucky Colonel certificate to Master Yang Jun. Wikipedia says “Kentucky Colonel is the highest title of honor given by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Commissions for Kentucky colonels are given by the Governor and the Secretary of State to individuals in recognition of noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state or the nation. ”
The person receiving the Kentucky Colonel commission becomes a lifetime honorable member of the Commonwealth. Members of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels include: Muhammad Ali , Bill Clinton, George Bush, Ronald Reagan, Winston Churchill, Tiger Woods, and Elvis Presley. It has been given eight people this year.

Planning is underway for the 2nd International Tai Chi Symposium slated for July 6 – 11, 2014 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
Master Yang Jun and Fang Hong visited Louisville December 4th and 5th, 2012 to tour the city and meet with community leaders.
During their meeting with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, Master Yang was awarded the Key to the City in recognition Master Yang’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and the alignment of the mission of the Symposium with that of the Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Movement.
The Symposium will be presented by the Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Foundation.
The Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Foundation is alive! In September 2012 we were notified that we have been granted 501(c)(3) status. This means that all donations are tax-deductible. We’ve been waiting over two years!
